Remo D’souza has launched his official app to explore the huge pool of untapped talent in India.

In his role as a choreographer and director, Remo D’souza has always supported new talent. The actor has now launched his official mobile app called Remo in collaboration with New York-based startup Escapex. The app will let fans access Remo’s social handles including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Remo says that the app is a step towards discovering fresh and new talent. “Even though the reason behind launching the app was simple. I basically wanted to get in touch with my fans and have a close interaction with them. Along with that, I wanted to look for talented people,” he says.

Remo has judged several dance reality shows including Dance India Dance, Jhalak Dikhla Ja, Dance Plus, among others. Some of the contestants have always credited the director for establishing them in the film industry not just as a choreographer but as an actor too. Salman Yusuf Khan, Dharmesh Yelande, Punit Patak, Prince R Gupta, Mayuresh Wadkar, Raghav Juyal have been working with him since he spotted them on dance reality shows.

“I keep judging reality shows and through my app I can find more talent. On dance reality shows, I get to see the top 50 contestants because I come into the picture during the mega auditions. What happens to the rest? I miss the chance to meet the other talented contestants,” he says.

Remo adds that he loves discovering new talent. So how does the app work? “There are various features on the app through which my fans can interact with me. Those who are talented can upload their videos and if they are really good, they will get a chance to work with me and learn from me too. I might even cast them in my film” says Remo who is launching his clothing line soon.

He further adds, “They will also get access to exclusive content that I upload. There’s plenty of untapped talent across the country and not all aspirants can come to Mumbai and struggle,” he says.

The die-hard Micheal Jackson fan believes that there is immense talent in India. “In fact, they are on par with the West. Recently, our Indian team stood third in the World Dance Championship which shows that our dancers are better than some of the other countries. The kind of talent we have here is amazing but sadly, people have not seen them all,” says Remo who is busy with numerous projects.
