TOURIST SAFETY

In the wake of the tragic murder of a tourist and assaults involving shack staff and tourists, the police had recently issued a directive for shacks in Candolim, Calangute, Baga and Mandrem to close by midnight.

CLOSURE CONCERN

Shack owners in these areas had raised concerns over the directive, arguing that the decision to close by midnight would impact their already struggling businesses.
