SHENI UJO?

The term Sheni Ujo or Xeni Uzzo essentially denotes the combination of Sheni, which means dry cow dung, and Uzzo, which means 'fire.'

DIVERSE RITUAL

Soon, men arrive at the temple carrying areca nut palms, which they subsequently position behind the shrine of Zalmi near the temple. Subsequently, individuals climb these palms, while others hurl fire at them.

FIRE POWER

The Sheni, the cakes made of cow dung, are ignited and tossed, scattering sparks in all directions. Individuals eagerly anticipate the opportunity to pass beneath these glowing embers or sparks. It is believed that no one sustains burns or injuries from these embers.
