Cajuchem Fest 2.0 was the theme of the popular Pilerne Thursday Heritage Market (PTHM) held on April 11, 2024 and was aimed at promoting cashews and its products from locals.

SUMMER COOLER

Neero, a local drink derived from cashew apples, was quite a hit at this stall, especially with the crowds wanting to beat the summer heat.

Being a cashew fest, all things cashew were on the menu, including innovative dishes such as Cashew Sorpotel.

LOCAL FLAVOURS

Apart from cashew delicacies, a delicious spread of homemade snacks such as beef samosas and chicken kebabs were on offer, and so also Cafreal and Vindaloo prepared in Goan clay cookware.

CREATIVE STYLE

In addition to food, local entrepreneurs showcased their creativity through beautiful handmade products such as these fabric scrunchies, resin keychains, scented candles and other fashion accessories.

People were clearly having a good time at the fest that was held at St John the Baptist Church, Pilerne.

FUN DAY OUT

Besides being a great opportunity to learn about cashews, the fest had live music (from The Derepent Band), a karaoke competition (with Goan songs), Summer Drink competition and games.
