Devotees from across Goa gathered at Narve, Bicholim, to celebrate the annual Ashtamichi zatra on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE

Every year, the Ashtamichi zatra, takes place on the eighth day of (ashtami) the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the month of Shravan.

IN FAITH

Devotees who visit Narve, Bicholim, have a strong belief that their prayers will get answered.

PRAYER & PURIFICATION

Puja and other rituals are performed on the banks of the rivers. Some even take a bath in the river with the belief that by doing so their sins will be washed away.

At the tirth, Bel and Tulsi are offered to remember the near and dear departed souls.

On the occasion of ashtami, you will find neighbouring villages carrying their respective deities in palanquins and gathering at Narve.
