BENGALI NEW YEAR
Celebrate Poila Boishakh at The Astor Hotel, in Candolim, with a festive feast blending Nawabi richness, Mughal flair, Anglo-Bengali fusion, and a hint of European charm.
Fish holds a special place in both Goan and Bengali cuisine, and this Indo-Chinese twist – a tangy, beer-battered chilli fish – brings a bold new flavour to a shared favourite.
Among the highlights are two rich, gravy-style dishes – Chingrir Balachong (a Burmese-inspired Prawn Balchao) and Duck Mangsho. Both pair perfectly with hot, fluffy luchi, the deep-fried Bengali flatbread.
Rice lovers are in for a treat! The flavourful Mutton Ball Curry served with Yellow Rice and Pepper Water is simply delicious. Vegetarians get an equally delightful Jackfruit Ball Curry as a hearty alternative.
For dessert, indulge in a medley of Bengali classics – their signature baked Roshogolla topped with Mishti Doi foam, creamy Nolen Gurer Firni, and crispy, golden Goja. Absolutely irresistible!
