If you think Goa is all about beaches and dance parties, then go through this list and you will realise there is much more you can do in this sunny state. So take your pick.

1. VISIT A TEMPLE

Goa has an abundance of temples. The picture here is of the historical 12th century Mahadev Temple in Tambdi Surla in Dharbandora taluka in the lap of the Western Ghats.

2. VISIT A WATERFALL

Goa has both seasonal and perennial waterfalls. The Tonir waterfall in Sattari taluka can be visited till March-end. This is the best time of the year to visit some of the waterfalls in and and around Goa.

3. ENJOY A JUNGLE RETREAT

Take a less than two-hour drive from Panjim to Wildernest nature resort in the Chorla Ghats. Here, you can enjoy some of the best forest valley views while swimming in its infinity pool.

4. GO ON A TREK

If you are an adventure seeker, then a trekking trip will give you the real experience of Goa which has many trekking trails within and in its bordering areas. The one in the picture is the Kasainath hill trek in Dodamarg on the Goa-Maharashtra border.

5. GO ON A MUSEUM VISIT

If you love culture or are an art connoisseur, nothing should stop you from visiting some of the museums close to Panjim, like the one you see (Museum of Christina Art in Old Goa) in this frame. Museum visits will help you understand Goa better.

6. VISIT A FORT

And if you are into history, visit some of the forts in North and South Goa to understand Goa's past. The Reis Magos fort (in picture), which faces the city of Panjim, is an architectural marvel and also has a museum that takes a peek into the State's colonial history.

7. CYCLE AROUND

Goa has lots to offer to cyclists who can take scenic and leisurely rides through village backroads and take home some indelible travel memories.

8. GO TO A SPICE FARM

Go north or south, Goa has several spice farms that one can visit. Here, you will come back rich in the knowledge of local spices, fruits, herbs and even different species of birds.
