IGREJA DE NOSSA SENHORA DO ROSÁRIO

The Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário (Church of Our Lady of the Rosary), was built in 1543, and is the oldest of the churches in Old Goa, which still stands today.

SÉ CATEDRAL

At 91 meters long and several metres wide, the Se Cathedral is the largest building built by the Portuguese in Asia.

BASILICA OF BOM JESUS

This is perhaps the most well-known church in Old Goa owing to the fact that the relics of St Francis Xavier are housed in this church.

CHURCH OF ST FRANCIS OF ASSISI

The Church of St Francis of Assisi was built in 1661. A statue of St Francis of Assisi is seen above the tabernacle in the main altar while scenes from the life of St Francis of Assisi are painted on the adjoining walls.

MORE CHURCHES

The other churches which form the World Heritage Site are the Chapel of Santa Catarina, ruins of the Church of St Augustine and Church of Divine Providence (São Caetano or St Cajetan).
