Vande Bharat Express is a short-distance train service operated by Indian Railways on 5 five train routes in India, including Goa to Mumbai and vice versa.

The train was designed by the Uttar Pradesh-based Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai.

A 16-coach Vande Bharat train costs approx ₹ 115 crore.

BUILT FOR SPEED

The train operates at a speed of 110-130 kmph (68-81 mph), and covers a total distance of 580 km between Goa and Mumbai.

THE ROUTE

The Goa (Madgaon)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express train departs from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Station and reaches Madgaon station the same day, with several stops along the way, including Thivim Railway station.

QUICK SCHEDULE

Due to speed restrictions on the Konkan route during the monsoons, the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat express operates thrice a week – Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from Madgaon to Mumbai; and from Mumbai to Goa on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
