MANNA

These snacks are typically sold at fairs. They are simple, fried tapioca chips, usually served plain and without salt.

DONNE

Made from a rice batter, filled with a coconut and jaggery mixture, these treats, which are shaped into cones, are steamed to perfection and are prepared in both, Hindu and Catholic, households.

GODACHI SANNA

Made from a smooth rice and jaggery paste, complemented with grated coconut, the batter is carefully steamed in small, circular containers, creating soft and flavourful bites.

KADDIO BODDIO

These are very local and traditional sweets commonly found at feasts and zatras. They are finger-sized sticks, coated with ginger-infused jaggery and a sprinkling of sesame seeds.

CUTLET PAO

In the evenings, take a stroll around the village, and stop at the roadside gaddas (carts) to savour Cutlet Pao — which is a thin slice of fried beef in local gravy, stuffed in a poie (Goan bread).

VONN

Few restaurants serve authentic Goan vonn. This traditional Goan dessert is a made of coconut milk, jaggery and boiled gram which give it a distinct flavour and density.
