FOND NOSTALGIA

WHICH BEACH?

Despite the multitude of beaches to choose from, the adults always settled on either Calangute beach or Colva beach.

SECLUDED SERENITY

Back in the day, these beaches were quiet and secluded, far from the noise and bustle that fills them today.

SIMMERING SCENT

The big day would start early, with the mouthwatering aroma of pulao and Xacuti simmering in the kitchen, while chutney sandwiches and large bottles of soft drinks were carried to the car.

IN SIGHT

The journey to the beach was filled with joyful singing and laughter. And, as soon as the shore came into sight, the little feet would bolt toward the sand, with the adults trailing behind.

CLASSIC SETUP

A bedsheet would then be spread out on the sand, and the guitar would be brought out for a lively singalong which was followed by a refreshing dip in the sea, a game of frisbee, and lunch which was lovingly hand-fed to us, little ones.

EVENING BLUES

The return journey was always quieter, as the kids, lulled by the saltwater, drifted into a peaceful slumber, dreaming of being carried to bed by Papa.
