If you’re in Goa for the National Games, and want to max your Goa experience without venturing too far from the Sports Village in Campal, here are some fun things to do in the vicinity of the sports venue.

BOMBIL RESTAURANT

No visit to Goa is complete without tucking into the flavourful local cuisine. And, Bombil restaurant, located opposite Kala Academy, in Campal, serves delicious Goan fare, including delicious fish thali.

MIRAMAR BEACH

A beach absolutely has to be on the itinerary if you are visiting Goa. The most well-known beach in Panjim is Miramar, and it’s practically a stone’s throw away from the bustling Sports Village in Campal.

KALA ACADEMY

Kala Academy, a premier institution that promotes art in the state, and made famous through appearances in Bollywood movies, is located in Campal.

YOG SETU (BRIDGE)

This bridge connects the road near the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) with Miramar Beach, and features statues in yoga poses, Lord Parshuram and a granite Yog Stambh. The brigde was inaugurated on International Day of Yoga, June 21, 2023.

FERRY RIDE TO BETIM

The River Navigation Department (RND) operates ferry services on various routes around Goa. So, take a ferry ride from Panjim to Betim, across the Mandovi river, and enjoy a leisurely journey via this unique mode of transport.

ST INEZ CHURCH

A couple of kilometres from the famous Panjim Church stands another church which dates back to the Portuguese era. St Agnes Church, popularly called Santa Inez Church, was built in 1605, and exhibits fluted capitals, triangular and arched pediments, and twin bell towers.

GOAN SWEETS

Delicious traditional Goan sweets and savouries, such as patties, pan rolls, bebinca etc are available at Romeo’s Bakery, located opposite the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, which is just a hop, skip and jump away from the Sports Village, Campal.
