'Ganpati Bappa Morya': Goans say Goodbye to Bappa

After spending a day and half with Lord Ganesh during the Chaturthi festival, Goans say a heartfelt goodbye to their favourite deity.

WALKING WITH BAPPA

Devotees, who had worshipped the Ganesh idol for one and half day, walked with the idol to nearby water bodies such as lakes, ponds and even the beach to bid farewell to Lord Ganesh.

SWEET FINALE

Sweets were distributed to all those who joined the visarjan procession as they headed to the venue of the immersion.

GANPATI BAPPA MORYA

The visarjan was accompanied by chanting and singing, as people put forth several wishes and prayers to Lord Ganesh and also sought his blessings.

GIVING THANKS

Devotees also thanked Lord Ganesh for protecting them, their families and businesses through out the year.

The visarjan went on till late night, when the idol was finally immersed.
