Six internationally renowned artists for the first time are showcasing their artworks in India as part of the Serendipity Arts Festival's special project "Geographies of Yourself", currently on display.
The artworks at Excise Building feature artists Olafur Eliasson, Ai Weiwei, James Benning, Tomás Saraceno, Sheba Chhachhi and the late Zarina Hashmi up close.
Olafur Eliasson’s Deep Cosmological Constant Collective (2019) features glass spheres that reflect yellow and black hues from different angles, symbolising the cycles of day and night as well as changing seasons.
Weighing over 1.5 tons, the installation was last exhibited in Delhi over three years ago and is now being presented in Goa, according to the organisers.
Sheba Chhachhi’s suspended cluster of laboratory glassware highlights artistic innovation and its transformation through experimentation.
Besides these main installations, there are many more interesting things one can experience at the Excise Building as part of the Serendipity Arts Festival.
