ART & STYLE

Khakhar, a self-taught artist, centered his work on the lives of the urban middle class, creating an intimate realism that became his signature style.

MAKING OF AN ARTIST

Khakhar believed that an artist must be vulnerable and his paintings must reflect all his weak points.

His work has been widely exhibited in India and internationally, including at the prestigious Tate Modern in London in 2016.

WHEN TO GO

‘Bhupen in Goa’ is part of the Serendipity Arts Festival, and will be on display until December 22, 2024, from 11 am to 10 pm at the Directorate of Accounts building in Panjim.
