With a literacy rate soaring to 99.72 per cent, Goa was declared a fully literate state on its 39th Statehood Day under the Union government’s ULLAS New India Literacy Programme.

RECORD LITERACY
While 82 panchayats have achieved complete literacy, the rest have reported literacy rates well above the 95 per cent national standard.
Thanks to the Union government’s ULLAS (Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society), over 2,100 individuals got a new shot at education regardless of age.
