In the past couple of months, Goa has witnessed several drowning incidents. Among these, one that garnered significant attention is the near-drowning and rescue of Ranveer Allahbadia, a popular YouTuber and podcaster .
Ranveer Allahbadia, India's top YouTuber, took to Instagram to post a story of survival and gratitude. He said, "My girlfriend and I had to be rescued from a bit of a situation."
"There was a point during the ordeal where I swallowed a lot of water and started fading away a little bit. That's when I decided to shout for help," narrated Allahbadia in his post.
On Christmas Day itself another shocking incident took place. More than twenty people were rescued off Calangute Beach by Drishti Marine lifesavers when a tourist boat capsized.
The Drishti report revealed that a local tourist boat was overloaded with more than 20 passengers. It capsized approximately 60 metres from the coastline. All passengers were thrown into the rough sea.
Both incidents in Goa highlight the importance of resorting to caution to ensure safety, especially when engaging with water activities.
When visiting Goa’s beaches or engaging in water activities, prioritise safety by following lifeguard warnings and avoiding risky activities. Stay self-aware and cautious, especially in rough sea conditions, for a safer experience.
