The National Institute of Watersports in Caranzalem, Panjim -- an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism -- was set up with the intention of popularising watersports by providing professional training.

GET WET, GET GOING
NIWS offers approximately 28 courses, specially tailored to meet the requirements of the government and corporate sectors. It also conducts safety audits and inspections of watersports and Scuba diving centres.

ON COURSE
Courses on offer include life saving, boat handling (including jet ski and parasailing), handling non-motorised watercraft, orientation programmes for MDP-EDP, repair and maintenance, and online certification.

PLACEMENT CELL
NIWS regularly organises personality development programmes, workshops, and seminars to improve the skills of students so as to fully equip them for the placement process.

FULLY LOADED
The institute has equipped classrooms, dormitories, an auditorium, cafeteria, library and computer room, in addition to a 15-feet deep swimming pool, conveniently located near Caranzalem beach.

SWIM LIKE A PRO
The swimming pool is open to the general public interested in learning to swim, with training being provided by experienced navy personnel.
