The refurbished Dona Paula jetty, which was inaugurated four years after it was shut, is a tourist hotspot.

Sadly, a month after its inauguration, plastic and other waste are seen strewn all over, raising questions over garbage management.

One can find plastic bottles and cans at every corner of the jetty.

The only garbage management seen is accumulation of plastic waste in polythene bags which are stored in one corner.

Also, some of the plastics land in the water and are carried away by the waves into the sea.

Despite the authorities collecting entry fees from visitors, there is complete negligence on waste management front.

The jetty was developed under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme.
