...AFTER A LONG DELAY

The flag-off, which was to be held on June 3, was delayed due to the Balasore train accident in Odisha.

FLAG OFF

The train was virtually flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was present for the flag off.

TIME SAVER

According to the railway authorities, the train will help save about an hour as compared to the current fastest train on the Goa-Bombay route.

Railways officials said the flag off comes at a time when the Konkan Railways route offers some of the most beautiful green vistas of the monsoon.
