The 5th edition of Goenchem Fest was celebrated at The Park Calangute, North Goa, over the weekend. Organised by The Goa Culinary Club, the event showcased the diversity of the local cuisine and culture.

Using his culinary expertise, Chef Amol Desai from Canacona brought the fruits and spices of the summer months to the table.

With participation from local entrepreneurs, the fest also featured a flea market, foot-tapping Konkani music and games, with spirits like urrak and neero flowing through the evening.

EXPLORING LOCAL TALENT

Chefs delved into community kitchens (Luso included) such as Chef Peter's Kitchens, Marlene's Tasty Treats, The Park and Foodybreaks to name a few. A peek at how local fruit wines were made during this season was one of the attractions of the event.

Many chefs gave demos of various dishes, which gave the guests a taste of modernity that has crept into Goan kitchens.
