Vivekanand Environment Awareness Brigade, a Goa-based NGO, organised a trek to Sonal Uste village, in North Goa, on the occasion of World Earth Day.
The trek saw the participation of, both, youngsters and children from all over Goa.
During the trek, participants got to learn about various essential features of the ecology as well as its importance.
Resource persons, Ramesh Zarmekar, Vitthal Shelke and Sanket Naik gave enlightening lectures on the subject of Goa's flora and fauna.
Renowned environmentalist, Rajendra Kerkar, spoke about Goa's important River Mhadei and the need to save it.
What was interesting is that the participants dispersed seed balls in the forest contributing in their own little way on the occasion of World Earth Day.
The trek turned out to be a learning experience for the participants.
