Let there be light -- lots and lots of it -- in Vasco!

LET THERE BE LIGHT

Diwali is known as the festival of lights. So, what better way to celebrate it than with brightly-lit diyas -- lots and lots of them!

Rotary Club of Vasco da Gama and Samraat Club of Vasco da Gama organised 'Sahastra Deep Prajwalan' on November 19, 2023, as part of their Diwali celebrations.

Shree Ram Sports & Cultural Club, Rotary Club Of Vasco Port Town, Rotaract Club of Vasco-Da-Gama and Inner Wheel Club of Vasco da Gama were co-organisers of the event, which involved lighting thousands of neatly lined up earthen diyas.

COMMUNITY SPIRIT

The unique event was held at Shree Narsimha Sateri Sansthan, Chicalim, and is being held for the past 4 years.

AGE NO BAR

That evening, people of all ages from the neighbourhood could be seen happily participating in the event and pitching in to light the many diyas at the venue.

DARKNESS, BE GONE!

A total of 5101 little traditional oil lamps were lit in front of the temple.

FESTIVE ART

The lamps were arranged in such a way as to form a beautiful festive pattern.
