POSTAL SPECIAL

On the occasion of the 18th Exposition of the Relics of St Francis Xavier, Goa’s Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media (DCSCM) introduced a special postal commemorative cover as well as other collectibles.

COVER STORY

The limited postal cover was conceptualised by Blaise Fernandes, a philatelist from Caranzalem, Panjim, while the design was created by Kolkata-based philatelist, Alok K Goyal.

METALLIC FINISH

This innovative cover is printed on metallic matte paper with raised UV effects highlighting elements such as the relic casket, the Basilica of Bom Jesus, select texts, and the exposition logo.

SHINE ON

The special cover also exhibits a real silver coin effect and metallic sheen. Additionally, a limited edition of covers crafted from natural cork paper with silver effects was produced.

POSTAL DETAILS

Apart from postal cancellations displaying the exposition date, the cover also features a stamp of Old Goa.

EXPOSITION MEMORABILIA

The commemorative collection created for the decennial exposition includes posters, postcards, envelopes and bookmarks, making them ideal keepsakes of this special event.
