Of Goa Carnival 2025 and the countdown to the excitement

CARNIVAL COUNTDOWN

Yet again, Goa is preparing to welcome the arrival of its grandest and most anticipated event of the year—the Goa Carnival—set to take place at the end of February.

5 DAYS OF FUN

The festivities will begin in Porvorim on February 28, followed by celebrations in Panjim (March 1), Margao (March 2), Vasco (March 3), and Mapusa and Morjim (March 4).

MAKE WAY FOR KING MOMO

King Momo’s decree of merriment sets the tone for the revellery across Goa and it subsides a day before the Lent season begins for 40 days of fasting, reflection and abstinence.

ENERGETIC EXPLOSION

Panjim, Goa's capital city, will set off the colourful celebrations, followed by Margao, Vasco, and Mapusa where themed floats, dancers, and lively Goan beats will flood the streets.

COSTUME PARADE

In every corner of Goa, colours and costumes bring the streets to life. It's the time for everyone to immerse themselves in the celebration.

CARNIVAL FRENZY

The infectious energy of carnival will take over Goa from February 28 to March 4, allowing everyone to have their share of merriment and dive into a whirlwind of fun.

GRAND FINALE

Like every year, the celebrations will reach its climax with the Red and Black dance in Panjim’s Samba Square, marking the grand finale of the 5-day celebration.
