Shri Nagueshi temple in Ponda is one of the oldest and most beautiful temples that celebrates dahi handi with devotion.

Before the breaking of the dahi handi, devotees visited temples and shrines on the way to Shri Nageshi temple, Ponda.

COLOURFUL AFFAIR

Colour filled the air as people made their way to the temple while applying colour to each other.

The walk to the temple was accompanied by devotees playing traditional musical instruments.

IN PRAISE OF KRISHNA

The hymns recited were dedicated to Lord Krishna on whose birth the festival of Janmashtami is celebrated.

HIGH ENERGY

The energetic youth formed a human pyramid to break the dahi handi to symbolise Lord Krishna's mischief of stealing curd and butter.
