A FESTIVE UNION

The day is steeped in faith and devotion as it marks the dual celebration of the feasts of Our Lady of Belem and the Three Kings, held every year on January 6.

THREE WISE MEN

The Three Kings Feast, also called the feast of Epiphany, marks the end of Christmas and is a reminder of the tale of the three wise men who followed the Star to visit infant Jesus Christ in Bethlehem.

REGAL ROLES

The tradition re-enacts the story of the three kings from the Bible. Three young boys from different wards of the village take on the role of the kings by wearing royal attire, including heavy robes.

A ROYAL PARADE

Riding on their horses, the three boys embark on a journey from the Chapel of Our Lady of Piety to the Nossa Senhora de Belem church, joined by family, friends, and villagers.

BRASS TUNES

The march down the hilltop is accompanied by a brass band, yet another unique tradition preserved in Goa. The melodious brass tunes add to the festive atmosphere, taking it a notch higher.
