ABOUT THE TEMPLE

It is the Mahadev Temple, Tambdi Surla, sometimes known as the Tambdi Surla Temple, a 13th century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

KADAMBA ERA

The temple, constructed from Basalt stone, is a prime example of Kadamba Dynasty architecture, and features intricate designs.

SPEAKING OF DISTANCE

The temple is situated 62 km from Panjim, and 34 km from Ponda, nestled deep within the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary, at the foot of the Western Ghats, and is easily accessible by road.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

The route to the temple is scenic and the best time to visit is during the monsoons and early winter mornings when you can immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.
