According to the traffic police, data collected by them has shown that rented cars and bikes are twice as likely to meet with accidents on Goan roads.

The traffic police officers have been instructed to brief individuals renting vehicles regarding the necessity of signing a written undertaking.

Individuals who rent vehicles in Goa will be required to keep a copy of the undertaking with them, while the other copy must be kept by the rental company or agency.

Recently, in Panjim, a tourist vehicle was responsible for causing an accident on the Mandovi bridge in which a two-wheeler rider was flung into the river leading to his death.
