January 3, 2023, saw the inauguration of Unified Beach Cricket and wheelchair accessible e-rickshaws at the Purple Fest Goa.
The event began at 9 am at the Miramar beach, Panjim.
The inauguration took place at the hands of CCP Mayor Rohit Monserrate and Minister for Social Welfare Subhash Phal Dessai.
Six specially designed e-rickshaw vehicles will be used during the fest to pick and drop persons with disabilities (PwD) to the festival venue, hotels, and the railway station.
The event was organised by the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Goa and the Directorate of Social Welfare, Goa.
The PwD attending the function got a first-hand experience of the wheelchair e-ricks present at the event.
Disability not a deterrence for enjoyment of watersports.
