Goa reports five new COVID-19 cases, tally goes to 13

"Five suspect cases of COVID-19 were tested positive. Of these, two had travelled from West Bengal and one each from Haridwar, Mumbai and Ratnagiri," informed the Director of Health Services in a bulletin issued.

PANAJI: Goa reported five new positive cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, taking the total tally of COVID-19 positive patients in the State to 13.
"Five suspect cases of COVID-19 were tested positive. Of these, two had travelled from West Bengal and one each from Haridwar, Mumbai and Ratnagiri," informed the Director of Health Services in a bulletin issued.
DHS also informed that presently all the five patients are managed at ESI Hospital, Margao (COVID Hospital) and their condition is stable.
Presently, there are 13 COVID-19 positive patients admitted to COVID Hospital, Margao.
In a tweet earlier in the day, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane had informed that seven people from Goa who had visited Gangapur, Kolkata to deliver barges were tested at the Mollem check post upon arrival. He had said that out of these seven, three had tested positive and their samples were sent for further confirmatory test at Goa Medical College.
In the next tweet, Rane had informed that the confirmatory test conducted at GMC stated that out of the three samples, two have been reported positive and one sample is reported negative and their samples will be tested again in the next 72 hours.
In another tweet, Rane had informed that the results for 35 people who came from Trivandrum via rail have reported negative.
"Another lot of 100 out of 288 have arrived from Delhi via rail. Their swabs are taken and testing is underway. They will be sent to Fatorda Stadium for quarantine until the results are out," Rane had said.
Meanwhile, the DHS also informed that 210 people have been put under home quarantine (interstate domestic travellers) on Saturday, while 339 travellers have been put under facility quarantine. DHS also informed that seven suspects have been put under hospital isolation.
DHS also informed that out of 764 samples tested for COVID-19, 536 samples have tested negative, while reports of 223 samples are awaited.
