After being battered by a Coronavirus outbreak for 18 months, Goa is witnessing a looming threat of dengue. After a high number of dengue cases in Vasco, now Ponda is seeing a sharp spike in the number of dengue cases.
A total number of 23 dengue cases have been found in Ponda. Health officials are monitoring all the cases and sanitation has been intensified in Ponda and Dharbandora health centre after sanitation inspectors found dengue patients.
In July, 102 confirmed dengue cases were recorded in the state, of which 65 were found in South Goa. 24 cases were reported in Cortalim, while 41 were found in Vasco. In North Goa, Kolwal reported 9 Dengue cases.
