CISF catches passenger for possesing ‘opium'

VASCO: The central industrial security force (CISF) personnel caught a passenger and seized 20 grams of ‘opium’ at the Dabolim international airport on Friday night. The value of seized narcotics is Rs 45,000 in the international market.

The CISF personnel during its routine security check suspected the movement of Harpal Singh, 35, a native of Uttarakhand while, he was about to board a Goa to Delhi flight.

The CISF personnel during its routine security check suspected the movement of Harpal Singh, 35, a native of Uttarakhand while, he was about to board a Goa to Delhi flight.

The CISF personnel accosted him and during the check recovered 20 grams of ‘opium’ which he had concealed in his socks. The CISF personnel immediately reported the matter to their inspector Pramod Kumar, who filed a police complaint.

The Dabolim airport police have registered a case against Harpal Singh under section 18 (A) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and are conducting further investigations.
