PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday assured free and fair probe into the former Merces sarpanch Prakash Naik’s alleged suicide death case. Speaking to media persons after chairing the BJP legislature wing meeting at his Altinho residence, Sawant said, "FIR has been registered against Wilson Godinho, brother of Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho and one Tahir in Prakash Naik’s death case. There will be free and fair probe in the case." Meanwhile, the principal district and sessions court, Panaji will pronounce the order on the anticipatory bail application filed by Wilson Godinho in the former Merces sarpanch Prakash Naik's suicide case at 2:30 pm on Thursday, January 23. Wilson had filed anticipatory bail application after the Old Goa police registered FIR against him and city businessman Tahir under section 306 of IPC on Sunday. Prakash Naik was found dead with bullet injuries at his residence at Merces on January 17. A suicide note posted by him on a Whatsapp group had named Wilson and Tahir and held them responsible for taking the extreme step.
