"We cannot allow Pramod Muthalik to continue spreading terror in our beautiful country renowned for its heterogeneity", said Curtorim MLA Alexio Reginald Lourenco

MARGAO: "We cannot allow Pramod Muthalik to continue spreading terror in our beautiful country renowned for its heterogeneity", said Curtorim MLA Alexio Reginald Lourenco on Friday.
He has written a letter to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant with this regard and urged him to express concern with the security of the Hope Recovery Centre with the party-led government run by your counterpart B S Yediyurappa.
"The recent report that Pramod Muthalik of Sri Ram Sena is back to his old terror ways of disturbing the communal harmony of India, especially in Goa and Karnataka. This time the Sri Ram Sena chief has threatened to burn down Hope Recovery Centre in Peeranwadi in Belagavi within a span of two weeks.
The centre run by Claritan Priests provides rehabilitation to drug and liquor addicts without discrimination of any caste or any creed. Importantly this centre’s yeomen service of rehabilitation is not only availed by patients from Maharashtra and Karnataka but also many liquor and drug addicts even from Goa too", he stated.
He further said that he is himself is a testimony of the fact for taking both drug and liquor addicts falling in the strata of poor and rich from Goa to Hope Recovery Centre of Belagavi.
"Shame on Pramod Muthalik for spewing venom and issuing threats against the Hope Recovery Centre. There is no church involved in the aforesaid humanitarian effort for the rehabilitation of drug and liquor addicts at the Hope Recovery Centre of Belagavi. The aforesaid centre of Belagavi preaches respect for all religion and accepts all patients. Pramod Muthalik has no regards to rule of law and is nullifying the investigations done by local police on the suicide committed in the toilet of the centre by liquor addict Santosh Naik", he further added.
He urged the CM to take up this matter urgently on the grave concern to the security of Hope Recovery Centre and security for its management, for its staff and for its patients with your party-led government run by your counterpart B S Yediyurappa.
