MARGAO: The Maina-Curtorim police are yet to make a breakthrough into the mysterious death of a 25-year-old Seeto Marques from Santemol-Raia, whose partly burnt body was found near the Verna industrial estate last month.

Police officer associated with the investigations of the case said that so far no clue regarding any suspicion had come on record even as police had recorded the statements of two women and interrogated them. Besides this, the police also checked CCTV footage.

The body was found lying at an isolated place on December 26 last year. The police had also attached his two-wheeler and recovered his half-burnt mobile phone handset, a headgear, wallet containing cash, a lighter and a match box lying near the body.

The Maina-Curtorim police had registered the case as unnatural death based on post-mortem examination report and the investigation carried out by them so far had not come to any conclusion. The autopsy report stated that the deceased died due to shock as a result of extensive flame burn injuries.

"We are trying our best to collect maximum information pertaining to the case and some statements have been recorded. However so far we not reached to conclusion," said a police officer.
