Ex-BJP MLA Mahadev Naik joins AAP
Former BJP leader and a minister in the Manohar Parrikar government, Mahadev Naik joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in New Delhi on Friday in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Power Minister Satyendra Jain and AAP leader Atishi and Goa AAP Convenor Rahul Mhambre.
Welcoming the former MLA from Shiroda, Rahul Mhambre said: “His joining the party will further strengthen AAP’s resolve to serve the people of Goa.”
Naik is a two-time BJP MLA from Shiroda and was defeated in 2017 by Shirodkar in assembly elections. In 2019, he joined Congress after quitting BJP.
Naik had also served as a minister in the cabinet of Manohar Parrikar and Laxmikant Parsekar.
Naik is the second leader to join AAP. Earlier this year, Goa Mahila Congress President Pratima Cutinho had joined AAP
