FC Goa has announced a 29-member squad for the Durand Cup where local players are given preference. The squad currently has 14 players from Goa.
The team has also included four foreign players, including Captain Edu Bedia who is in his fifth season at Goa.
The team under the tutelage of Juan Ferrando will leave for Kolkata soon as the tournament starts on September 5.
This will be the 130th edition of the Durand Cup, Asia's oldest competition. The tournament was cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Similar to the 2020-21 ISL, matches will be played in a biosecurity environment. The 16 teams are from all over India and are divided into four groups.
