PANAJI: At a time when common Goans are doing their bit to help the State in its battle against the lethal coronavirus disease (COVID-1), IT entrepreneur Maxwell Rodrigues too has joined the fight by designing and manufacturing 100 personal protection equipment (PPE) face shields for frontline COVID-19 warriors in record one day for free.
“Unlike those in market, we came up with simple foam based face shields which are durable, soft, comfortable and easy to use for all frontline service providers, police and health workers fighting Covid19 cases. Each face shield takes just 10 minutes to assemble and is the best option I could provide in current circumstances,” said Rodrigues, who is Managing Director of Mattzus Learning Technologies Pvt Ltd.
With a capacity of manufacturing 1000 face Shields in less than a week Maxwell plans to serve all in need in Goa and beyond. According to him, IT and Revenue Minister Jennifer Monserate has also requested for 100 face shields.
"We are getting inquiries from doctors, voluntary organisations such as Rotary from Goa and even from Gujarat and Hyderabad. Our major challenge will be to double our capacity and fulfill the growing demand," he said
100 pieces each of face shields and face masks were handed over to Director Health Services Goa, Dr Jose D'sa by him on April 13.
He informed that being a certified startup, Mattzus Learning Technologies Pvt Ltd got full support from Start-up Promotion Cell Government of Goa including CEO Ankita Anand and Rajesh Joshi. Also the President Rotarian Sanjay Gaude and members of Rotary Club of Mapusa City came forward for sponsoring the initial supply.
"We feel immensely satisfied of the fact that we could contribute in a little way to our state of Goa and Health Department in this time of need to protect our brave service providers, police and doctors in their fight against Covid-19," Rodrigues added.
