Goa reports nine new cases of COVID-19, tally goes up to 22

As per the bulletin issued by Director of Health Services, Goa has 29 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 22 are active cases while seven cases have already recovered.

PANAJI: Goa reported nine positive cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, taking the total tally of COVID-19 positive cases in the State to 22.

As per the bulletin issued by Director of Health Services, Goa has 29 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 22 are active cases while seven cases have already recovered.

"Nine suspect cases of COVID-19 were tested positive. Of these eight have travelled by train from Maharashtra and one by road from Karnataka. Currently they are managed at ESI Hospital, Margao (COVID Hospital)," said DHS. 

DHS also informed that the condition of all these patients is stable.

The bulletin stated that 225 people have been put under home quarantine (interstate domestic travellers) on Sunday, while 399 travellers have been put under facility quarantine.

DHS also informed that out of 997 samples tested, 527 samples are negative, nine are positive and reports of 456 samples is awaited (includes train passengers).

DHS said that there are eight patients in isolation ward and 469 people quarantined at various residencies and hotels.
