Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday inaugurated a new Primary Health Center and Wellness Service Center at Ribandar.  

“The Government of Goa is making every effort to provide good health care to all the citizens of the state. A telemedicine service will soon be launched in the state under the Health for all campaign to ensure that people get immediate health care and do not have to go to the doctor,” said Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October,

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, Panaji MLA Babush Monserrate, Health Officer of Urban Health Center of Panaji Dr Oswald Fernandes, health department officials and doctors were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that it has been decided to start a telemedicine service conceptualized by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to provide home health advice to the citizens of Goa.

“It would be implemented in the next few days,” he added.

Stating that the local MLA Babush Monserrat has made efforts to set up a health centre where cardiac health services and emergency ‘108’ ambulances will be available for 24 hours at Ribandar Health Center, he said, “Besides, a doctor, a nurse and the para-medical staff will be also available.”
