I hadn't really thought about Christmas this year. Life has just changed in the past two years. I didn't get a chance to plan things in advance the way I used to in the past... until my son just blurted out that we had to do the Advent wreath, and I was already late by two weeks!

Making a crib from scratch like we used to do as kids …. the sand, the grass, the paper for the star; sitting with my son and making Christmas decorations…. That's a tradition I never want to end. I have done it from my childhood days. And, that same old Christmas tree every December! Though it’s falling apart, we are still going to manage to tape it up and drape it with all our old and new decorations.

And, let’s not forget the yummy Christmas goodies. That’s grandma’s department! A walk across to my parents’ place and just sit at that old kitchen table, watching my elderly mom making the same sweets for her grandchildren as she did for us. It is priceless!

I am going to cherish those moments because life is short and unpredictable, and I want to know that Christmas was that bright ending part of the year that made us all come together and enjoy each one's company, a season of giving and sharing, and just pure contentment with life and what we have been given.
