
As part of World Portuguese Language Day, the Consulate General of Portugal in Goa and the Camões Portuguese Language Centre (Camões-CLP), in Panjim, will host 'Literary Sarau' on May 5, 2023 at Camões-CLP, in Panjim at 6 pm.
'Literary Sarau' includes an interpretation of Portuguese poems in the form of a dance recital, performed by Impana Kulkarni and Antara Majumdar.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Impana Kulkarni is a post graduate in Bharatanatyam from Kalakshetra Foundation (Chennai) and Journalism (Alagappa University). She is also the recipient of the Best Upcoming Artist Award.
Antara Majumdar is an innovative and passionate dancer with a background in contemporary dance and philosophy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from St Stephen’s College, Delhi, and an MSc in Economics and Art Management from Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, in Milan.
The dance recital at 'Literary Sarau' will be followed by the launch of the book O País de Súria: Obra Reunida de Paulino Dias, soon to be available in Goa.
This will feature the online participation of experts in Indo-Portuguese literature -- Everton Machado and Duarte Drumond Braga (Portugal) and editor-in-chief of Alameda Casa Editorial, São Paulo (Brazil), Haroldo Cereza.
Finally, there will be an autograph session by the guest of honour, José Luís Peixoto. The acclaimed Portuguese writer is the winner of prestigious literary awards, and his works have been translated into twenty-six languages.
The event has been organised in collaboration with the Discipline of Portuguese and Lusophone, Shenoi Goembab School of Languages and Literature, Goa University. Instituto Guimarães Rosa, Brazil, will participate, for the third time, in a reading session at Goa University.
