The name ‘Crossroad Café’ itself is an apt explanation of the location of the place. If you are trying to mind-map this place in the capital city – Panaji and still have no luck at guessing where it is, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
Location
Located close to the St Inez circle on the right, opposite Taj Vivanta, is this place, housed in an old building. This place does go unnoticed several times due to the several cars parked outside. However, the board bearing the name of the café looks pretty old, but like they say ‘don’t go by the looks’.
The exteriors give a bit of a shady appearance, but as you step inside the café, you are taken by the surprise and end up eventually being ‘wowed’ by the place.
The café ambiance
With dim sepia lighting, this place takes you by surprise. You can find wooden logs converted into chairs, while table tops have tiles with fancy decorative patterns.
These intricate patterns and colours give a Mediterranean vibe. And, once you are done being fascinated by the table tops, your attention is drawn towards the antiques and biker print that the wall artwork is made of. The underground garage kind of ambiance is what one can expect from this place.
The fusion of wood and industrial theme deco gives a charming vibe to the space. Several college students and youngsters hang out at this place, which is not very well-known.
What to try?
The most important thing that we were here for is the food. Well, the place serves burgers, milk shakes, Cad-B and sandwiches.
This is one place in Goa where you can grab a Cad-B. It is a thick chocolaty shake, infused with milk and ice-cream. A chocolate bar is grated and you can find loads of delicious bits of chocolate on top of the shake. You definitely need to have this shake with a spoon rather than a straw. Another Cad-B flavour that is available is vanilla, which finds its way to the hearts of vanilla ice-cream lovers.
Among the many shake options there, you can find cold Coffee, Chocolate Coffee, Black Current Shake, Tender Coconut, Oreo Shake, etc. Black Current Shake and Tender Coconut are also worth trying.
Black Current Shake, which is a vitamin superstar, helps in boosting the immune system and is something one can easily relish; the Crossroad Café has their own unique style of preparing it.
Snacks and more
Among the snacks, you can opt from the many vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The vegetarian and non-vegetarian burgers include Spicy Burger, Peri Peri Burger, Crossroad Special Burgers, etc.
There are several other sandwich options one could try — Chicken Grilled Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Veg Mayonnaise Sandwich and don’t forget the Crossroad Special.
And, if you are looking for smaller bites, try out their Chicken Spicy Wings, Chicken Nuggets, Chicken Seek Kabab, Chicken Breast Strips, Chicken Chilly Garlic or Chicken Popcorn.
Crossroad Café was one of the first to serve Cad-B shakes; they changed several locations and finally setup the café at the current spot.
If you want to grab a glass or two of Cad-B or simply hang out with friends, this place beckons. Chocolate lovers shouldn’t forget to add it to their must-visit places.
