More than 20,000 Covid-19 infections were recorded among children in Goa

Since the start of the pandemic, 22,371 children and adolescents in Goa were infected with Covid-19 and nine children due to Covid, according to figures released by the health department on Friday. 

During the first wave, 6,508 children were infected by the virus while five children died. The age group of 11-15 reported the highest infections with 1,898 children tested positive for Covid-19. While in the 1-5 age group 1,542 kids tested positive for Covid-19, 1,616 children were infected with Coronavirus in the 6-10 age group.  1,454 adolescents were infected in the 16-18 age group

The 11-15 age group saw the highest infections with 4,932 children getting infected with the coronavirus. While 3,860 children were detected with Covid in the 16-18 age group, 3,809 children were infected in the 6-10 age group. 3, 262 children were infected in the 1-5 age group.
