Passengers who are travelling to Goa can let out a sigh of relief as Goa International Airport announced the slashing of the cost for procuring a Rapid PCR test by 25%, effective immediately. The cost for getting a Rapid PCR test for international passengers is down from Rs 3,200 to Rs2,400 now.
To tackle the issue of long queues and congestion in the waiting rooms, officials from the Airports Authority of India said that international passengers will be given the option to prebook their tests before arrival or departure. "Goa airport has slashed the rates of Rapid PCR tests being conducted at the airport for international passengers with effect from December 9. The existing rate of Rs3,200 per test is reduced to Rs2,400," said Goa Airport director Gagan Malik.
Malik also said that the motive behind the decision to cut rates is the convenience of the travellers.
