PM Modi to arrive in Goa on December 19. Check out the traffic advisory
As Goa celebrates the 60th annivery of the Goa Liberation Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive on Sunday 19, December, to take part in the celebrations.
During the day-long celebrations, a grand event will be orgainsed where in the morning the flag hoisting will take place in all the talukas in the presence of the concerned various officials and ministers. The official program will be held at the parade ground in Panjim.
During his visit, PM Modi be visiting different places and will also inaugurate multiple development projects such as the renovated Fort Aguada Jail Museum, Super Speciality Block at Goa Medical College, New South Goa District Hospital, Aviation Skill Development Center at Mopa Airport and the Gas insulated Substation at Dabolim-Navelim, Margao.
He will also lay the foundation Stone for India International University of Legal Education and Research of Bar Council of India Trust at Goa.
He will also distribute awards to the best Panchayat/Municipality, Swayampurna Mitra’s and beneficiaries of Swayampurna Goa Programme.
He will release a postal stamp that will depict the Hutama Samarak at Patradevi, which shows and salutes the great sacrifice made by the martyrs of the Goa Liberation Movement and 'Meghdoot Post Card' depicting a collage of pictures of different events during the Goa Liberation Struggle.
Prime Minister Modi will pay tributes to the Martyrs at Azad Maidan, Panjim, after which salute will be paid by the Navy, Army and the Police.
According to the traffic police, the roads from Dayanand Bandodkar statue to Miramar, Jack Sequiera Miramar to NIO Circle, and Goa University Margao NIO circle to ETDC will be closed after 1:30 pm, however parking will be provided for those who are going to be coming for the event.
