Goa's all-rounder Darshan Mishal bagged the highest number of points in the selection process for the Goa Cricket Association's (GCA) Premier League cricket tournament. Ranji team captain Snehal Kavthankar and all-rounder Deepraj Gavkar were also in demand.
Among the newcomers, batsmen Manthan Khutkar, Ishan Gadekar and all-rounder Mohit Redkar were preferred. The six-team three-day tournament will be played from April 20. For this, the selection test auction process was held at the GCA complex at Porvorim on Monday. The semi-finals will be played from May 6 to 8, while the final will be played from May 11 to 13 at Bhausaheb Bandodkar Ground, Campal, Panaji Gymkhana. Apart from this, matches will also be played at the GCA ground in Sanguem.

Absence of key players
According to GCA Secretary Vipul Phadke, the three visiting (professional) players from Goa's Ranji squad will not be playing in the Premier League. Suyash Prabhudesai has been selected in the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad for the IPL and Amit Yadav is a net bowler in the same squad, so both of them are unavailable. Aditya Kaushik is ill, while Lakshya Garg has reported unavailability due to family reasons, which has been cleared by the GCA.
