The executive committee of the Goa Football Association (GFA) has decided to implement the five-substitute rule in football matches from this year. Competitive matches will start from August 15 and played till the end of May next year.

The first, second and third division, as well as age group football competitions, were not played in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons due to Covid. The new season is all set to begin on August 15 with a charity match between the previous Pro-League winners Dempo Sports Club and runners-up Salgaocar FC. The match will be played at Duler Stadium in Mapusa at 4 pm.

The Pro-League tournament will be played from September 10. The premier competition in the state will run for nine months, concluding May 31. Clubs participating in the respective competitions will have to pay the required fee by August 6, and will have to renew their registrations by July 25 with late fees.
