The true talent of a photographer lies in his/her imagination. S/he should be able to capture the natural beauty of an object and bring out the same in the picture without using much of photo enhancing tools,” says Dr Kaynat Kazi, Delhi-based solo traveller and photographer who dabbles in writing as well. Kazi, one of the first Hindi bloggers, is sharing her knowledge and experience of travelling the world and meeting new people, through her Hindi travel photography blog www.rahagiri.com. The driving force behind Kazi’s travel tales is what she calls the ‘raw’ and ‘natural’ photography. It is hard for a photographer to set apart a favourite picture out of the many shots s/he has captured. Kazi gives us a peek into one of her choicest photographs and says, “This shot involved staking the principle of photography that one should never click a picture against sunlight, as taking a shot against the sun will either make the object look dark or illuminate it to appear too bright, thus affecting the natural colour of the object.” She was in Bundi, a small hamlet in Rajasthan last year where there are many blue houses. She wanted to capture the blue beauty when the first rays of the sun fill up the sky. “So, the previous evening, I moved around the place, trying to figure out a spot which was not only high in altitude but also gave me the full view of the mountains behind the houses, the sky and the indigo habitat clustered in a low-lying area. Finally, I chanced upon a highway going upwards with a bending curve and I knew it was the spot I had been looking for.” In order to capture the best, shot without missing the sunrise, Kazi almost ran from her hotel to the highway, without stopping even once. “It was purely a technical shot. I was accurate in shooting the sun emerging from behind the hills and the frame included the hills, the first rays of the sun and the blue houses. The moment I saw the shot in the camera, I knew I had captured the perfect shot, just the way I had visualised. The contrast of the blue houses and the bright sunlight looked ethereal,” says she. Himachal calling It’s a treat for shutterbugs to capture such candid moments. Another photograph, the memory of which is deeply etched in Kazi’s mind is of a Himachali bride which came with some risk too. “I was wandering in a village near Naddi in Himachal Pradesh along with a group of photographers. We were examining the place which is located in the laps of the mountain, to find a good landscape to shoot a picture. Soon we started hearing some Himachali folk songs.
